Know Your Parts: which part wants a word today?

No part is bad. Every part means well. One card a day, to hear who is trying to say something.

The Self2 min read

Some mornings you wake with a voice in your head and no idea whose it is. This deck is for asking it directly.

In Internal Family Systems no part of you is bad. Even the ones that make life harder are trying to look after you in the only way they know. Know Your Parts is a short way to stop and listen to that voice for a moment, before you judge it.

What the deck is

A hundred cards in five areas — daily, work, love, study and health — twenty to each.

Every card has three parts: the part’s voice, said the way that part would say it; one question from Self, asked out of curiosity rather than a wish to fix; and one small thing you could try before the day is out.

If a card turns up reversed, it adds a note on what that part tends to look like when it is working too hard.

How to draw

Choose an area, take a breath, tap one card from the ring and press Reveal. Shuffle or cut first if you like.

One card per area per day is plenty. The card you drew is kept until tomorrow, and there is a link to share it with someone you want to tell.
