Over years in the counseling room, we kept noticing the same thing… When something hurts, the first question we ask ourselves is “So how do I fix it?” — when the truth is that we never stopped long enough to hear what the parts inside us were trying to say. And when we rush to fix without listening, the same story tends to loop back around.
The other thing we see often is that people wait… They wait until the heart is badly broken before they dare to come and talk, as if you had to fall apart first to deserve help. But caring for your mind doesn’t have to begin at a crisis, and it doesn’t have to wait for a therapy room. Stopping to breathe for a moment on a tiring day already counts as looking after yourself.
insideaway grew out of one intention — to move the work of caring for your mind out of the therapy room and into your everyday life.
